Figures taken from Q // NME // MOJO
- These figures show me that Q and NME (which are both in my genre), have a predomainantly male audience. This is probably because of the type of music that they cover, but also the way they market their product (advertsising in male orientated areas, colour schemes(red, black and white) etc.) This also tells me that their is a huge audience for these kinds of magazines, with Q getting over half a million readers, and NME having 325,000. The stats about age are the only ones which do not seem to have any pattern. The average ages of the magazines range from 23 (NME) to 37 (MOJO). The reason for this is that the magazines have varied sophistication. Hoever because of the huge readership figures, in know that no matter what age, there is a market for this kind of magazine.
Also, the majority of readers of all of these magazines, come under the ABC1 social class group, which shows that most of their readers have some kind of disposable income.

This is a page from MOJO's media pack. It is an introductory paragraph, explaining what their magazine is all about, giving a brief overview of what can be found within its contents. It uses buzzwords and phrases such as "creates an experience that is immersive", "a trusted source", "quality", and even in the title, "The Mission". This title has more meaning and is more individual than other that just read, "Introduction". This is probably trying to reflect the magazines individuality and adventurous style. The page also includes an image of Pete Doherty, who himself has a very unique style, both in music and in personal life. MOJO have chosen this image as they feel Doherty represents individuality .

Other Interests
Readers of all three magazines have multiple interests according to their media packs. Readers of all these magazines enjoy films (and most other forms of media), sports and gaming. This reflects that they see their magazines as part of their readers lives, and usually, don not just base their lives around music.

This is from the NME media pack, and it is useful for finding out about their readers other interests. It shows numerous other products including games consoles, a range of other technology (cameras, ipods, laptops), clothing brands (Adidas, Fred Perry) and food & drink (Pepsi, Jack Daniels,Snickers). This gives you an idea of what the average reader enjoys, and also an idea of what could be advertised in the magazine.
